Freedom proclamation, Manor Knip

Proclamation in Papiamentu celebrating the abolition of slavery in Curaçao in July 1863, with the heading “Long Live Holland, the King and Freedom” in Landhuis Knip, a country house dating from the beginning of the 18th century. In 1875 there were still 175 slave huts and five stone buildings that housed 390 people.
